SEO Tip #2–Understanding the 3 match types of search term.
November 26, 2011 – 2:12 pm
Definitely, starting an online website is a way to:
-
Generate more leads.
-
Increase in Sales, in turn increase in revenue.
-
Brand awareness and Recognition – with an online presence, clients have a different type of impression.
However, as this is as important as it is, without a proper keywords, users won’t be able to search for your site. How will you generate more leads, increase in sales if users are not aware of your products even though you’ve placed information online?
Of course, the usual way is to tell existing clients about your newly done website. However will that increase leads or attract new customers? Definitely not.
Which is why keyword research is by far the most important aspect in SEO. Without proper keywords, your online business could fail, or if your just interested to generate new sales or increase customers, then it won’t do much. Even though Brunei Darussalam may have a low population base, however users are using search engine – Google, Yahoo, Bing to search for products or information.
There are 3 match types of keywords you need to be aware of.
-
Broad
-
Phrase
-
Exact
Broad – is a search term which contains the specific word in any order or with any other terms. Example:
- Web Hosting
- Shoes
- Laptops
- Computers
Phrase – Is a phrase which contains any of the words either before or after the keywords.
Example:
- Cheap web hosting
- web hosting offer
- yellow shoes
- offer shoes
Exact – Is a search term which is the exact match with what your targeting. If your targeting ‘Cool yellow shoes’, then only that specific term will be shown. Which means you can accurately predict how many users actually type that specific search term and you can know roughly how much visitors will you be getting if your targeting that keywords.
Do remember, there are a lot of things needed to be taken into consideration when doing a keyword research.

SEO Tip #1 – Keyword in Domain.
August 17, 2011 – 6:04 am
In your domain, having a keyword is fairly important. This may sound obvious, but for those who are new, it’s best to understand that having your keyword in your domain helps a lot!
Let’s say your selling cars, it’s better to have the word “cars” or “sale” on your site, so it can be named “carsforsale.com” as an example, but it also depends on the availability. Most of the keywords for domain are being bought. So it’s best to do some research, drill in your keywords and search for the domain availability!
